DIY stool remake

Standard

tablebeforeBEFORE

I found this stool at goodwill for $3 and decided I would bring it home with me and turn it into something pretty.
I wanted it to match my daughters room, so I chose to redecorate it in an owl theme, and to make it even more cost effective I used mostly what I had around the house (other than the batting that I got for $1.99)

I used:
Batting
Pink fabric
Owl patterned fabric
Pink spray paint
buttons
fabric glue
glue gun
heavy duty stapler

I am not a huge DIY girl, and rarely do things as complicated as I should, so I didn’t take apart the stool all of the way, I just took the top off

Then I spray painted the entire thing other than the top pink, let it dry and sprayed it 1 more time.

While it was drying I started working on the top

I cut out some of the owls from the owl patterned fabric and sat them aside

I measured my batting and my cloth and cut appropriately

I sat the batting on the ground and turned the top upside down on top of it, then used the stapler to staple the batting down

I repeated the procedure with the pink fabric then cut away any excess fabric

I used fabric glue to glue the owls where I wanted them

Once the base was dry, I put the top back on

I then used the hot glue gun to glue buttons where I wanted them on the base

I am pretty proud of how it turned out especially since total I spent $4.99 on the entire project!
